Post-op Day One--Boston--Day Four

Riley had a really great night last night. She was awake from about 7:30pm until a little after midnight. She didn't care for the first dressing change too much! But then she slept from around 12:30am until about 10:30am--waking for feedings and dressing changes of course but then going right back to sleep. She has rested well and continued to feed well today too. The Tylenol with codeine seems to be working really well at keeping her comfortable. Her dressing came off around noon. She looks so good--so different already. She is pretty swollen though so I can't wait to see what she *really* looks like when the swelling goes down. Riley has been such a sweet little princess...I won't say much more 'cause I don't want to jinx it! I did get her a crib toy from the play room and she really liked it--it plays music and lights up. We are getting discharged in the morning and then flying home. Can't wait to get home and see Sawyer...it's been a long 5 days already...but so thankful how well everything has gone...

God is so good! I can't wait to see Riley. I want to hold her so bad. I'll just have to make the trip and see your new house too! Safe travels!
Love,
Meredith

So glad to hear that things are going along smoothly. I pray that they continue down that path and can't wait to see pictures of sweet Riley's new smile. :)

Hi, your daughter is beautiful. I found your blog through other cleft family blogs and saw that your daughter had her surgery the day after my son had his palate repaired by Dr. Mulliken on May 27th. We were probably on the same recovery floor and didn't know it :). My son also had the lip adhesion surgery at 10 weeks and then the full lip repair at 5 months for his unilateral cleft lip/palate. Dr. M did a fantastic job that most people can't tell these days. His nostrils look amazingly symmetrical and his scar is slowly getting softer and less red (still doing lip massages). Best wishes on the rest of your surgeries. Your daughter is definitely in great hands! Shannon
